Below we explain what personal data we collect on this landing page, why we collect it, and what rights you have.

1. What data we collect

We only collect data that you actively give us. Specifically:

  • The email address you enter into the waitlist form.
  • The fact that you ticked the consent checkbox.
  • The timestamp of your submission and a confirmation that you completed the double-opt-in step (which we need as proof of consent under Art. 7 GDPR).

We do NOT use analytics, advertising, third-party trackers, fingerprinting, or any cookies beyond a single locally-stored preference for light/dark theme. The theme preference never leaves your device.

2. Why we collect it and on what legal basis

Purpose: to add you to a waitlist so we can send you a beta access code and occasional updates about checklyn until you receive your invitation.

Legal basis: your explicit consent under Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR, given when you tick the checkbox and confirm your address via the email we send.

3. Who processes your data

We use Brevo (operated by Sendinblue GmbH, Köpenicker Straße 126, 10179 Berlin, Germany) as our email-marketing service. Brevo stores your email on servers located in Germany.

We have signed a Data Processing Agreement (DPA) with Sendinblue GmbH under Art. 28 GDPR. Brevo's privacy policy is available at: brevo.com/legal/privacypolicy

We do not share your email with anyone else.

4. How long we keep your data

Until you unsubscribe, or until 12 months after the beta period ends — whichever comes first. After you unsubscribe, your email may be stored in a suppression list (blacklist) by Brevo for the sole purpose of making sure we don't accidentally email you again. This is based on our legitimate interest under Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.

5. Your rights under the GDPR

You have the right to:

  • Access the data we hold about you (Art. 15)
  • Have it corrected (Art. 16)
  • Have it deleted (Art. 17)
  • Have its processing restricted (Art. 18)
  • Receive it in a portable format (Art. 20)
  • Object to processing (Art. 21)
  • Withdraw your consent at any time (Art. 7(3)) — every email we send contains a one-click unsubscribe link, and you can also email us directly at the address above.
  • Lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. In Germany, this is the data protection authority of your state. A list is available at bfdi.bund.de.

6. Hosting

This website is hosted by netlify. The hosting provider processes the IP address from which you access this site for the technical purpose of delivering the page (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR — legitimate interest in operating the website). IP addresses are stored in standard server logs for a maximum of 60 days for security purposes.

7. Changes

We may update this policy as the product evolves. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent change. Material changes will be communicated to you by email if you are on our waitlist.
